aXMonitor – Ambisonic Monitor Plugin
aXMonitor ambisonic monitor decodes ambisonic scenes of up to tenth-order to binaural for immersive listening over headphones. It supports the SOFA format so you can load customised HRTFs for a personalised listening experience.
It also decodes first-order signals to stereo loudspeakers, allowing you to distribute your immersive audio content via more traditional formats.
AAX • VST3 | Mac • Windows
Binaural Immersion
Convert to binaural using custom HRTFs via the SOFA format. Tenth-order processing gives high spatial and increased timbral fidelity compared to lower orders.
UHJ Super Stereo
Output to UHJ “Super Stereo” or standard stereo to get a standard two-channel decode of your immersive scene. UHJ processing can be performed with either FIR or IIR filters.
Ambisonic Order Detection
Processing automatically matches the order of the input signal to optimise CPU usage when working with lower order signals. No need to manually select your ambisonic order.
Features
• Binaural Output – default decoding using the HRTFs generated from Google’s Resonance Audio used by Google for YouTube 360.
• Custom HRTF Support – load custom HRTF via .SOFA files, allowing personalised binaural rendering for a more accurate monitoring experience.
• UHJ Super Stereo Output – advanced Ambisonics-to-stereo decoder with occasional “outside the speakers” effect (FIR and IIR filter implementations).
• Cardioid Stereo Decoding – point two cardioid microphones left and right to capture the signals and send them to the left/right speakers.
• Gain – adjust the level of the final output signal
Output High Resolution Tenth-Order Ambisonics
aXMonitor converts any ambisonic signal of up to tenth-order to binaural, letting you work with the highest spatial resolution currently available*.
* Currently only possible in Reaper 7+ which allows for tracks with up to 128 channels. Other DAWs are limited to seventh-order (Pro Tools Ultimate) or third-order (e.g. Cubase).
